Birds are calling out to the world, inviting a tuning in to nature’s peace
As raindrops mark the lake’s surface with tiny perfect ever increasing circles, a hundred tweeting voices so joined together it as hard to tell who is singing
A fish, huge and bright, breaches a surface loudly reminding the world above there is a whole other world beneath the surface, that is home to creatures so small the human eye cannot see and a playground for the ducklings and moorhens
Two mother ducks glide pass with their broods like they are on some kind of ducky play-date
There is a distant sound of humanity, the drone of traffic or something like it – only audible when the birds stops singing for a moment
I’d like to stay here, just here, with nature’s calling the loudest and the peace of its sound wrapping around me like a gently strong reminder that I can be still
